Remote work and its workforce

According to recent research by Accenture, 63% of high-growth companies are using a hybrid work model. Adding that companies who support, and enable, workers in new ways can unlock human potential, regardless of location – and to rethink traditional work models to enable workers who can be “productive anywhere.”

Initially adapted as a business continuity plan for companies during the lockdowns, remote work aided in providing continued workflow and services but was also beneficial for employees to keep their jobs during the economic challenges the pandemic brought.

Eventually, employees saw the huge benefits of working from the office versus working from home and are now fully embracing this setup.

Several companies, however, do not see the full potential of a remote workforce. And sees that on-site work still outweighs remote work.

Here are hidden factors of local employment that companies should consider when building a remote workforce – and why it is important to build one in the first place.

Hidden employment factors

1) Limitations to local talent
When hiring locally, you limit your workforce to the residents in and near your area. This limitation can also cover race, educational background, social background, and even talent and skills. With remote work, you remove that limitation.

2) Improve business continuity

With a remote workforce, you will not worry about natural disasters, power interruptions and time differences, limiting your company’s productivity. Call center and order management jobs definitely benefit from this setup.

3) Employee retention and loyalty

According to a study, 96% of employees and job hunters prefer to work remotely. With this number in mind, a work from home or remote work setup will encourage employees to stay in the company longer.

Takeaways

Whether you’re a start-up looking for remote talents, or a medium or large company looking to either grow or fully transition to remote work, a remote team adds diversity to your workforce while giving you its hidden benefits.
