11-2023 – CC.Talent participated in an economic mission to Malaysia and Vietnam. The primary objective of this mission was to strengthen economic relations between the Netherlands and the emerging markets in Southeast Asia while simultaneously exploring new business opportunities within the tech sector. The mission included visits to Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.

“This visit reflects our already strong ties with Southeast Asia and the Philippines, where we have one of our offices,” said Maarten de Graad, Founder of CC.Talent.

Opportunities for Technology and Innovation in Southeast Asia

The emerging markets in Southeast Asia offer favorable business opportunities. In Vietnam, this attractiveness is enhanced by a young, hardworking workforce that is increasingly well-educated and has lower labor costs compared to Europe. In Malaysia, we see rapid growth in the digital economy (12% per year), which brings about exciting prospects. International companies experience a positive business climate in Malaysia and benefit from a well-developed ecosystem with government support for investments. The presence of a highly educated English-speaking population makes doing business in Malaysia all the more appealing.

Making new Connections

The mission provided a diverse program of informative sessions, company visits, and networking events. This offered participants the opportunity to establish valuable business contacts and expand their networks. The presence of Prime Minister Rutte added weight to the mission and provided the opportunity to establish high-level contacts and make business agreements.

Organization

The organization of this mission was a collaborative effort involving the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of General Affairs, the Dutch economic network in Malaysia and Vietnam, the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), and relevant industry associations.
